Girls, Human Trafficking, And Modern Slavery In America
think slavery doesn't exist? think again! Does the term human trafficking sound familiar? When we hear it, we think of girls from East Europe or Southeast Asia. Yet half of trafficked girls are born in the USA and trafficked by Americans who promise them a better life. However, they are lured into living hell: pimped, beaten, chained. The American trafficked girls are invisible to most Americans, people think they are hooking on purpose. If you stroll down International Blvd in Oakland and take a close look some of these girls look scared. THEY SHOULDN'T BE RIDICULED, THEY NEED HELP!
In addition to small group and individual tutoring and afterschool programming, I started working specifically with special needs kids.
