one thing I learned at work, especially in nursing homes is that when some of the patients get hostile you shouldn't take it personally as some of them have dementia and the hostility is a side effect of it. Others are hostile by nature and simply don't get along with anybody. Others have unreasonable fears. The nursing home staff care for them and are often the only thing between them and the streets so they won't kick out the patient.
