county hospitals aren't always the best.....

Today at work, I was instrumental in initiating a code gray(code for hostile/combative people in hospital) because one of the patients on the 7th floor was getting aggressive with the nurses. Too bad the cop left without the guy calming down. Guy's doctor spent an hour trying to calm him down. Turns out he was pissed because someone broke into his home.

During lunch, a nurse said she had to stop for a cup of coffee because someone accosted her in the hallway.

Back to 7th floor scenario, the same guy thought for some reason that I was his ex-wife that he married in 1995 and he wanted a divorce. He also said I robber his mom. One of the doctors happened to hear it and pulled me aside to speak to me. I told her that he needs to be evaluated by a shrink because he's mentally not right. I also told her there's no way I would ever marry the guy as I've never been married and he looks way too old. I told the MD "Do you want to call security twice on the same guy in one day?" She said; "I don't want to take that route yet." I said; "We'll give it about 30 min and if he's still doing it, then we'll call security." Maybe I looked like his ex.... Maybe the meds he was one were making him not aware of reality....

Then again, it's the county hospital in Oakland which is not in the best area.
