For the past couple of years I've been working with special ed kids in the day and as an afterschool teacher in a recreation center that focuses on art. I've been working in that recreation center for the past 3 summers as well. Aside from that I like rural USA, cooking, swimming, walking to Lodi Lake. Latest obsession: orange stretch bracelets and short sleeve orange sweaters

AU pretesting
Enrollment is finally over. I am now in the pretesting phase. In December, I pretested about 8 kids in the Contra Costa area. Now I am working on the Oakland students. One kid refused to take his pretest but I didn't push it because his mom wasn't in a good mood. So far, I pretested about 6. Sometimes it's hard to contact the parents, either because they can't speak English or the number is wrong. When the number is wrong, the District Coordinator has to check the phone number with the district. When a couple students said for 2 days that they'd meet me at the library and didn't show, I asked the District Coordinator if I could go to their home. IF THE KIDS WON'T COME TO US,WE'LL GO TO THEM!
