NCLB obstacles

As most of you probably already know, we are in Bush's No Child Left Behind era. In theory it sounds good. However in practice it can be really stressful for several reasons

  1. Parents don't speak English and either don't know anything about America's education system or don't care

  2. There are pretests and posttests, monthly timesheets and daily sign in sheets so there's plenty of paperwork to submit

  3. There is some type of miscommunication of information. If the program is part of an afterschool, the students aren't in the afterschool program so they won't be there for tutoring. Another scenario is that the kid repeatedly doesn't show up

This brings us to "No Child Left Behind except when there's a miscommunication"
